How to Measure:
To make sure the Lippert Solid Step or Radius Manual Step will fit your camper, you need to take three specific measurements:
Step 1: Ground to Threshold Height
Measure the distance from the flat ground straight up to your entry door threshold. This determines how many steps you need:
- 22” – 28” = Double Step
- 27” – 36” = Triple Step
- 34” – 44” = Quad Step
Step 2: Doorway Width
Measure the width of your entry door frame from the inside edge to the inside edge, then round up to the nearest even number. This dictates the width of the step assembly you need (for example, whether you need a 26″ or 30″ assembly).
Step 3: Threshold Clearance
You must have at least 3/8″ of clearance between the bottom of your entry/screen doors and the top of the threshold. If you don’t have this gap, there won’t be enough room for the hinge plate, and you won’t be able to close your door when the steps are extended down.
